Michael Mercieca is a Chartered Accountant with over two decades of professional experience. He began his career in 2003 with Deloitte, where he simultaneously pursued and completed his ACCA qualification.
Building on this foundation, he went on to complete a Diploma in Taxation with the Malta Institute of Taxation and an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation with the Chartered Institute of Taxation, achieving the latter, ordinarily a three-year programme, within a single year.
In the early stages of his career, Michael specialised in audit before transitioning into corporate and personal taxation, eventually expanding his expertise to include immigration services.
Alongside his client work which he carries out under the brand of ZET Finance, he cultivated a passion for education, lecturing on taxation for the ACCA qualification, delivering continued professional development courses for qualified accountants, and teaching taxation modules at university and professional institutes.
Following these experiences, Michael co-founded the QLZH Group, which owns and operates the QuickLets and Zanzi Homes brands. Today, QLZH Group is recognised as Malta’s leading estate agency, with over 35 offices and more than 700 estate agents.
Under the QLZH Group umbrella, together with his brother Steve, Michael co-founded Merci Developments, a brand dedicated to the development of high-quality residential projects in Malta and ZET Finance which operates in the professional services sphere. Michael also holds a full CSP licence Class C.
Together with his brother Steve and entrepreneur Jack Cator, Michael further expanded into the technology sector by co-founding Houzit, a real estate business-to-business software platform aimed at supporting and innovating the property industry.
